What You’ll Learn

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to:

  • browse VOD and Series categories
  • select the categories they want to see
  • search and sort movies and series
  • open Details and Trailer when provider data is available
  • add movies and series to Watchlist
  • use Continue watching
  • open series episodes
  • reset playback progress when needed

Before You Start

VOD and Series require Xtream Codes credentials in your active profile.

If you only added an M3U list, the full VOD and Series experience may not be available.

If IPTV Buddy shows XTREAM credentials required, open Profile & Provider and add your provider credentials first.

If IPTV Buddy shows No categories selected, tap Select categories and choose the VOD or Series categories you want to see.

Provider data controls what appears in VOD and Series. Some providers include rich posters, descriptions, ratings, trailers, and episode data. Others provide only basic titles.

Making VOD and series available offline is covered in the mobile playback tutorial. Use this tutorial for browsing, Watchlist, Continue watching, details, and episodes.

Tutorial Steps

1. Open Video On Demand

Open Video On Demand from the main app navigation.

If VOD categories are active, IPTV Buddy shows the VOD category list.

The VOD category list can include:

  • provider categories
  • All Video On Demand Streams
  • Watchlist
  • Continue watching

Use provider categories when you want to browse by the provider’s structure.

Use All Video On Demand Streams when you want to search across all loaded VOD items.

2. Select VOD Categories

In Video On Demand, tap Select categories.

Choose the VOD categories you want to see.

Use Select All or Deselect All if needed, then tap Apply.

Only select the categories you actually use. This keeps browsing easier and reduces the amount of content you need to scan.

3. Search and Sort VOD

Open a VOD category or All Video On Demand Streams.

Use the search bar to find a movie by name.

Tap Sort to change the order.

The app supports sort options such as:

  • Recently added
  • New release
  • Rating
  • Name (A-Z)
  • Name (Z-A)

Use Recently added when you want to see new provider entries. Use Name (A-Z) when you already know what you are looking for.

4. Open VOD Details

Tap a movie to open its action menu.

Choose Details when the action is available.

The Details screen helps you decide whether you want to watch the movie now or save it for later. It can show the poster, description, release information, rating, genre, cast, and trailer when your provider includes that data.

The amount of information depends on the data from your IPTV provider.

If a trailer is available, IPTV Buddy can show the Trailer action or trailer content in the details view.

5. Add a Movie to Watchlist

In a VOD list, tap a movie to open the action menu.

Choose Add to ‘Watchlist’.

When the movie is already saved, the action changes to Remove from ‘Watchlist’.

Open Watchlist from the VOD category list to see saved movies.

Watchlist is for items you want to watch later. It is not the same as Continue watching.

6. Use Continue Watching for VOD

When you stop a VOD item before finishing it, IPTV Buddy can store playback progress.

Open Continue watching from the VOD category list to resume items with saved progress.

The list can show:

  • progress text
  • a progress bar
  • actions such as Continue watching
  • Remove from “Continue watching”

Use Clear continue watching if you want to remove all VOD entries from that Continue watching view.

Removing an item from Continue watching does not remove it from the provider list or from Watchlist.

7. Open Series

Open Series from the main app navigation.

If series categories are active, IPTV Buddy shows the Series category list.

The Series category list can include:

  • provider categories
  • All Series
  • Watchlist
  • Continue watching

Use All Series when you want to search across all loaded series.

8. Select Series Categories

In Series, tap Select categories.

Choose the series categories you want to see and tap Apply.

If you do not see a series you expect, it may be in a category that is not selected.

9. Search and Sort Series

Open a Series category or All Series.

Use search to find a series by name.

Tap Sort to change the order.

The available sort options match the VOD style:

  • Recently added
  • New release
  • Rating
  • Name (A-Z)
  • Name (Z-A)

10. Open Series Details

Tap a series to open its action menu.

Choose Details when available.

The Details screen gives you a quick overview of the series before you choose an episode. It can show the poster, plot, release information, rating, genre, cast, and trailer when your provider includes that data.

Provider data controls how much information is available.

11. Open Episodes

Tap a series and choose Episodes.

The episode view groups episodes by season.

Each episode row can show:

  • season and episode label
  • episode title when available
  • playback progress text
  • progress bar

Tap an episode to open its actions.

Choose Play to start the episode.

If the episode has saved progress, IPTV Buddy can resume it.

12. Use Series Watchlist

Tap a series and choose Add to ‘Watchlist’.

Open Watchlist from the Series category list to see saved series.

If the series is already saved, the action changes to Remove from ‘Watchlist’.

Use Watchlist for series you want to keep visible even when you are not currently watching an episode.

13. Use Continue Watching for Series

When an episode has saved progress, IPTV Buddy can show the series in Continue watching.

Open Continue watching from the Series category list.

Tap a series and choose Continue watching to resume the relevant episode.

The action menu can also offer:

  • Remove from “Continue watching”
  • Reset playback progress

Use Clear continue watching if you want to remove all entries from the Series Continue watching view.

14. Reset Playback Progress

For Series, IPTV Buddy can reset playback progress.

Depending on the action you choose, the app can ask whether you want to reset:

  • the playback progress of one episode
  • the playback progress of all episodes in the series

The confirmation text can say:

  • Do you really want to reset the playback progress of this episode?
  • Do you really want to reset the playback progress of all episodes in this series?

Confirm only if you really want to remove the saved progress.

After reset, the app can show Playback progress has been reset.

Troubleshooting

I Do Not See VOD or Series

Open Profile & Provider and check whether Xtream Codes credentials are stored. VOD and Series are only available when Xtream Codes credentials are present.

I See No Categories Selected

Open Select categories in Video On Demand or Series and choose the categories you want to see.

Search Does Not Find an Item

Try All Video On Demand Streams or All Series. Also check whether the category containing the item is selected.

Details, Posters, or Trailer Are Missing

The provider may not supply that metadata. IPTV Buddy can show Details and Trailer only when usable data is available.

Continue Watching Is Empty

Continue watching appears only when IPTV Buddy has saved playback progress for VOD or series episodes.

Watchlist Does Not Start Playback Automatically

Watchlist is a saved list. Open the saved item and choose Play, Continue watching, Details, Episodes, or another available action.
